Ruth and Kim want the Utah legislature to remove the cohabitation clause from the adoption law. It basically means that any same-sex couple can't adopt a child if they are living together. Ruth's kids, Riley and Casey, small kid at left, are legally hers, and Kim already adopted Riley in Massachusetts. It's a pretty silly law since she could adopt him if she wasn't living in the same house.
I caught Ruth in a patch of light.

That first photograph is really great. It gives you a scope of things: look at how happy these people are, and look at how the law opposes this harmless happiness. Maybe it's not what you were trying to say, but anyhow, I like it a lot.
Great stuff. Sorry it's taken me so long to check out your blog. You have a thread of style I am starting to see in all your photos. Don't be suprised if I start ripping off some of your compositional decisions...and spare dollar bills for the coke machine at the office. Great stuff.
